It is with profound sorrow, but with the utmost gratitude for a life well lived and most rightly commemorated, that I proclaim our Empire to be in mourning for one month from the 28th of May instant in honor of the Reverend Canon Edward Leonard Caum, late father of our most trusted and beloved cousin His Royal Highness the Prince of Grønbjerg.

All flags are to be displayed at half-mast and half-staff, and all other traditional, respectful, and proper forms of mourning are to be observed during this time.

I do hereby enact the following articles as Imperial Law, establishing the Chancellery and Ministries as follows.

The Chancellery
1. The Chancellery is the department of the Imperial Government tasked with aiding the Emperor in the day-to-day performance of his duties.
2. The head of the Chancellery is the Chancellor, who serves as aide, advisor, and deputy to the Emperor.
3. Ministers of the Imperial Government are answerable to the Chancellor, as the Emperor's appointed deputy.
4. The Chancellor may staff the Chancellery with such deputies as he may see fit. Such deputies serve at the pleasure of the Chancellor and the Emperor.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs
1. The Minister for Foreign Affairs is the Minister responsible for the conduct of diplomacy with foreign powers.
2. The Foreign Minister shall direct and advise Ambassadors who, upon receiving accreditation from the Emperor, shall represent the Empire's people, government, and interests to the heads of state and government of those foreign powers to which they are assigned.
3. The Foreign Minister shall ensure that Ambassadors are provided with whatever staff and supplies as may be necessary and proper for their Embassies; and he shall recommend to the Emperor suitable Imperial Citizens for ambassadorial posting.
4. The Foreign Minister may, as necessary and when appropriate, serve as deputy to the Emperor or the Chancellor in the reception of foreign ambassadors, heads of state, and other dignitaries.
5. The Foreign Minister is responsible for the registration and safe passage of foreign nationals lawfully residing, traveling, or conducting commerce within Imperial territory, whether on behalf of their governments or as private citizens.
6. The Foreign Minister is likewise responsible for providing, either directly or through the appropriate embassies, assistance and advice for Imperial citizens residing, traveling, or conducting commerce in foreign territories.

The Sovereign of Arms
1. The Sovereign of Arms is the Minister responsible for registering, recording, and approving heraldic devices and for establishing policies and regulations governing them.
2. The Sovereign of Arms may establish a College of such lesser heralds as he may see fit to assist in the performance of his duties.

The Minister of the Interior
1. The Minister of the Interior is the Minister responsible for the administration of the Empire's infrastructure, and for the management of lands held by the Crown and Imperial Government.
2. The Interior Ministry is responsible for the classification, regulation, and preservation of the Empire's parklands, zoological and botanical gardens, aquariums, and other attractions of historic and ecological importance and interest.
3. The Interior Ministry is responsible for the classification, regulation, maintenance, and improvement of the Empire's land, subterranean, air, and water transportation infrastructure.
4. The Interior Ministry is responsible for the promotion of environmentally responsible, sustainable technologies, in conjunction with the Ministry for Industry, Science, and Technology.

The Minister for the Arts
1. The Minister for the Arts is the Minister responsible for the support and encouragement of Aristene artists, and for the promotion of cultural and artistic initiatives.
2. The Arts Ministry is authorized to withhold its patronage from artists and projects deemed not to be in the national interest, but is expressly prohibited from the regulation, censorship, or suppression of the free expression of any artist, independent of government support.
3. The Arts Ministry is authorized to confer awards, grant subsidies, provide for the protection of intellectual property within reasonable standards, and otherwise act to promote artistic and cultural activity within the Empire.

The Minister for Industry, Science, and Technology
1. The Minister for Industry, Science, and Technology is the Minister responsible for the promotion of scientific inquiry and of innovations in technology for the benefit of the people of the Empire and of humanity generally.
2. The Ministry for Industry, Science, and Technology is authorized to confer awards, grant subsidies, establish standards, issue patents, and otherwise act to promote industrial, scientific, and technological safety, progress, and growth.

The Minister for Sport
1. The Minister for Sport is the Minister responsible for the promotion and oversight of amicable competition in athletics and gaming.
2. The Ministry for Sport is authorized to confer awards, establish competitions and regulations, provide encouragement and assistance to athletes within the laws of their respective sports, and to raise awareness of and support for those athletes and clubs who represent the Empire and its corresponding macronational territories at all levels of competition.
3. In addition to athletic competition, the Ministry for Sport shall act to promote non-athletic competition and recreation such as board, card, and computer gaming.

Constitution of Ariston

The Empire of Septempontia is now the Sovereign Aristene Empire.

As my first act as Emperor of Ariston, I do hereby appoint HRH the Prince of Grønbjerg to be Imperial Chancellor, Councilor of State, and my appointed deputy in all matters except where I shall provide otherwise.

The appointment of more Councilors of State and Ministers shall follow in the coming days, along with such other instruments of government as may be appropriate.
